  • The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) approaches the fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AOE 8) for a replenishment-at-sea. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.   • Chief Hospital Corpsman Richard Utley is pinned by his wife and his mother during the fiscal year 2020 chief petty officer (CPO) pinning ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Twenty-five Sailors were pinned to CPO during the ceremony. Nimitz is currently in port preparing for future operations. Navy Exchanges Launch Revamped Student-Rewards Program

The Navy Exchange Service Command has revamped its student reward program just in time for the new school year. The NEXTgen Scholars Program still offers all qualified students the opportunity to win $2,500, $1,500, $1,000 or $500 each quarter. The next drawing is at the end of September 2019.
