  • The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) conducts a sea and anchor evolution while pulling into Valparaiso, Chile. The ship is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations to participate in exercise UNITAS LX. UNITAS, Latin for 'unity,' is the world's longest-running multinational maritime exercise. Conceived in 1959 and first executed in 1960, UNITAS is a demonstration of U.S. commitment to the region and the strong relationships forged between our partner nations and their militaries. In addition to the Pacific phase of UNITAS LX, there will be Atlantic and Amphibious phases hosted by Brazil in August.   • The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) departs from the Royal Canadian Navy supply ship MV Asterix following a replenishment-at-sea. Curtis Wilbur is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.   • The Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Maryland (SSBN 738), Blue crew, returns to homeport at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga., following a strategic deterrence patrol. Maryland is one of five ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base and is capable of carrying up to 20 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.
