Rear Admiral Robert R. Percy, III


Rear Adm. (ret) Robert Ryland Percy, III graduated from Louisiana State University in 1971 where he majored in accounting. He entered the Naval Reserve as a Reserve Officer Candidate in 1970 and received his commission as an Ensign in November, 1971 from the Navy's Officer Candidate School, Newport, R.I. After completion of the Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, Ga., he was assigned as Assistant Supply Officer/Technical Supply Officer at the U.S. Naval Magazine, Guam, Mariana Islands. His final assignment was as Commander, Naval Expeditionary Logistics Support Force in Williamsburg, Va. Previous reserve assignments include Commander Logistics Task Force Atlantic, Deputy Commander for Procurement Management at Naval Supply Systems Command, Chief of Staff of the Joint Reserve component of the Defense Logistics Agency Contingency Support Team, Director of Professional Development on the staff of Naval Reserve Readiness Command Region Ten, Commanding Officer of Defense Logistics Agency Depot Mechanicsburg/Memphis 109, Commanding Officer of ABFC Supply Support Unit 209 and Commanding Officer of Cargo Handling Battalion Thirteen. Rear Adm. Percy's awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Naval Meritorious Service Medal, and the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards).
