WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Daily News Update features four newscasts each day - one two-minute newscast and three one-minute newscasts.

Two-minute newscast-
- Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Gary Roughead, sends a message to the fleet commemorating the Navy's 235th birthday.

First one-minute newscast-
- Headlines from around the fleet: USS Enterprise Carrier Strike Group departs for its composite training unit exercise; USS George Washington (CVN 73) Sailors compete in Black Box Culinary Competition in Pattaya, Thailand.

Second one-minute newscast-
- The Federal Voting Assistance Program website helps Sailors register to vote.

Third one-minute newscast-
- The Navy and Marine Corps greenest commands are honored at the Energy and Water Management Awards in Washington, D.C.

Defense Media Activity Anacostia produces four Daily News Update (DNU) newscasts each day - one two-minute newscast and three one-minute newscasts. DNU can be seen throughout the day and evening on the Direct-to-Sailor (DTS) satellite television service available aboard 160 ships of the fleet and via the Navy Web site at Check your local DTS program schedule for air times. DNU can also be seen throughout the world on the American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS).
