SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) San Diego hosted a seminar for Sailors and their families affected by the Enlisted Retention Board (ERB), Jan. 17 and 18, at Naval Base Coronado.
The seminar entitled, "ERB... What Next? Seminar for Sailors and Spouses" consisted of 10 modules informing affected Sailors about all aspects of the ERB transition process.
"This is the best opportunity for Sailors transitioning to learn about their benefits and network," said Beth Juachon, Department of Veterans Affairs military services coordinator.
Navy command career counselors, representatives from Navy College, Veterans Affairs and other organizations, answered questions and provided the most current information on career services, networking, transition benefits and relocation information.
"The seminar provides a wealth of information," said Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Ben Bezalsky, an ERB-affected Sailor.
In addition to guest speakers, information was provided in the form of pamphlets and fliers about topics covered during the seminar to aide Sailors in their transition.
"It's one-stop shopping for getting out the Navy," said Bezalsky. "Every question I had, and wondered who I can talk to or what websites to go to, got answered. I definitely feel like I am well prepared to start my transition into civilian life."
Naval Base San Diego's first ERB seminar was held Dec. 19 and 20, and more are currently being planned on a monthly basis through June.
