Navy Helicopter Makes Precautionary Landing in Virginia Beach

NORFOLK (NNS) -- A U.S. Navy MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter from Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 14 made a precautionary landing today in an open field off Harper's Road near Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va. There were no injuries among the crewmen aboard and the helicopter suffered no damage as a result of the precautionary landing.

The incident occured at 3:40 p.m today and there were eight crewmembers on board the aircraft.

Maintenance crews from HM-14 at Naval Station Norfolk Chamber's Field here have responded to the scene.
