WASHINGTON (NNS) -- This week's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 19 initial reports from across the Navy between Nov. 4 and Nov. 10.
This time frame reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; however, three of these reported incidents also occurred during this period.
Every one of these reports will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following:
* Eight reports come from events that occurred on-base, nine from events that occurred off-base, and two from unknown locations.
* All 20 of the alleged offenders were male.
o The vast majority were known to their alleged victims. One was E-7 or above, ten were petty officers, two were E-3 or below, two were midshipmen, two were civilians, and three were unknown.
* Within the reported incidents, 14 are alleged to be service member on service member.
* Among the alleged victims, ten were petty officers, five were E-3 and below, one was a midshipman, and three were civilians. Of these reported, 16 were female and three were male.
