USS George Washington Sailor Missing

NORFOLK, Va. (NNS) -- A Sailor was reported missing yesterday (Feb. 4) from the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) while the ship was conducting training operations off the coast of North Carolina.

The Sailor was reported missing during a routine muster. The ship's crew is conducting an internal search of the ship as well as searching the most recent operating area.

USS George Washington is homeported in Norfolk, Va.
