ILHA DA GOVERNADOR, Brazil (Aug. 20, 2019) Brazilian marines test their amphibious capabilities with amphibious assault vehicles during UNITAS LX at Ilha do Governador, Brazil, Aug. 20, 2019. AAVs are able to conduct ship-to-shore movements to aid in supporting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief situations. UNITAS is the world's longest-running, annual exercise and brings together multinational forces from 11 countries to include Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Mexico, Great Britain and the United States. VILA DAS PEDRAS, Brazil (Aug. 6, 2019) The Brazilian navy hospital ship NAsH Doutor Montenegro (U16) moored in Vila Das Pedras, Brazil along the Parana dos Ramos river bank, Aug. 6. This visit marks the first stop of a 26-day Brazil riverine humanitarian medical mission by five U.S. Navy and Air Forces physicians, a U.S. Navy nurse and their Brazilian counterparts deployed aboard Montenegro.
