USS Vinson - non-skid replacement
Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, WA (Jul. 15, 2002) -- The flight deck of USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) resembles a patchwork quilt as sections of the non-skid are replaced. During Operation Enduring Freedom Carl Vinson's flight deck crew launched and recovered 4,200 combat sorties. Vinson is homeported at Naval Station Bremerton, WA, and is conducting Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) period to install new technology and extend the operational capability of the ship.
