NAVY COVID-19 UPDATE
Feb. 10, 2023
On Jan. 10, 2023, NAVADMIN 005/23 discontinued administrative separations for Sailors who refused the COVID-19 vaccine, including those with approved separation letters. Additionally, all Navy commands discontinued any new adverse administrative actions associated with refusing the COVID-19 vaccine.
Operational guidance was released separately. On Feb. 15, 2023, NAVADMIN 038/23 updated the Navy’s COVID-19 Standardized Operational Guidance to reflect the removal of the Navy’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates at all levels, the shift from a crisis to a steady-state COVID-19 posture, and the end of administrative COVID case reporting.
The Navy separated a total of 1,878 Sailors for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine.
As of Jan. 9, 2023, there were 3,350 unvaccinated Sailors in the Navy (including active duty, TAR, and Selected Reserves).
