Rear Admiral Grafton Chase Jr.

Rear Adm. Grafton Chase, is a native of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and the son of a World War II Navy veteran.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Syracuse University in 1983, was commissioned through the Naval Officer Candidate School in 1986, and obtained a master’s degree from LaSalle University in business administration in 1997, graduating with honors.

His afloat tours were aboard USS Clark (FFG 11) and USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). He served staff tours with the Naval Aviation Supply Office, where he was weapons system manager for the EA-6B Prowler during Operation Desert Storm and flag aide.

 

Chase affiliated with the Navy Reserve in 1996. His assignments include Military Traffic Management Command; Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 10; Navy Reserve Readiness Command South; Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics; Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group; Navy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Global Logistics Support; Logistics Programs and Business Operations, Office of Chief of Naval Operations; Naval Forces Europe/Africa; and Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters.

His command tours include Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Det. 207; Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 8; Defense Finance and Accounting Service Cleveland 105; 4th Navy Expeditionary Logistics Regiment; NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Pearl Harbor; and NAVSUP Global Logistics Support.

He was deployed in 2005 as deputy commander, Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Force

Forward, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring

Freedom. He again deployed in 2010/2011 as group commander, Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group Forward and Commander Task Group 56.3 in support of Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom.

His decorations include the Legion of Merit (three awards), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign and service ribbons. He is a qualified Surface Warfare Supply Corps officer, Naval Aviation Supply officer and Navy Expeditionary Supply Corps officer.
