Vice Admiral Curt A. Renshaw

Vice Adm. Curt A. Renshaw is a native of New Albany, Indiana. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Naval Post Graduate School.

His sea tours include repair officer and Aegis fire control officer aboard USS Shiloh (CG 67); weapons and combat systems officer aboard USS Anzio (CG 68); commanding officer of USS Patriot (MCM 7), USS Independence (LCS-2), and USS Robert Smalls (CG 62), then named USS Chancellorsville, where he also served as air defense commander for Commander, Task Force Seven Zero; and Commander, Carrier Strike Group Eight (CSG 8).

Renshaw has completed operational deployments in all Navy theaters of operation. His commands have earned Battle Efficiency awards, Golden Anchor Retention Excellence awards, the CNO Safety Award, and the Spokane Trophy for the most combat ready ship in Pacific Fleet.

His shore assignments include director of operations (J-3), U.S. Central Command; deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command; executive assistant to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations; special assistant to the Assistant Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; detailer and deputy director, Surface Warfare Officer Assignments in the Bureau of Naval Personnel; and on the Commander, Naval Surface Forces Command staff.

Renshaw assumed the duties and responsibilities as Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. 5th Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces in October 2025.

Renshaw's awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal (two awards), Legion of Merit (four awards), Navy Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards) and the Navy Achievement Medal (two awards) and other various personal, unit, and service awards.
