Rear Admiral Robert Bianchi

 

Rear Adm. Bianchi , a native of Vineland, New Jersey, attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a Navy ROTC scholarship, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. Upon graduation in 1982, he was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps. He earned a master’s degree in business administration with distinction from Harvard University in 1992, and completed the Wharton School of Business Executive Development Program in 2003.

His operational tours included supply officer, USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75); supply officer, USS Pigeon (ASR-21); cargo and stock control officer, USS San Diego (AFS-6).

His shore and staff assignments included duties as: deputy commander for Aviation at the Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia.; military advisor to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics & Materiel Readiness), Washington, D.C.; fleet comptroller, commander, U. S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk.; instructor and educational counselor at the Navy Supply Corps School, Athens, Georgia.; executive assistant to the Vice Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command, Washington, D.C.; head, Program Objectives Memorandum (POM) Development Branch, on the Staff of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington D.C.; director, Material Department, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC), Pearl Harbor and executive officer, FISC Pearl Harbor; Readiness and Supply Afloat Programs Officer, Naval Air Forces Atlantic Fleet; and director, Material Budgets, Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia.
