Rear Admiral Ronald A. Foy

Rear Adm. Ron Foy enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1985. He is a Naval Special Warfare Officer and a 1992 graduate of Auburn University, receiving his commission via the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps. He holds a Master’s degree in National Security Studies from the Eisenhower School, National Defense University. He completed training with Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Class 190 in November 1993.

His operational assignments include two tours at a SEAL Team as assistant platoon commander and one as platoon commander. He served as operations officer and then executive officer at an overseas Naval Special Warfare unit; troop commander, operations officer, and then squadron executive officer, at Naval Special Warfare Development Group; commanding officer, Naval Special Warfare Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadron One; and chief staff officer, director of operations, and deputy commander at Naval Special Warfare Development Group from 2009 to 2014. He served his major command tour as commodore of Naval Special Warfare Group Ten from 2015 to 2017.

His staff assignments serving as operations officer for the Joint Reconnaissance Task Force, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Detachment Washington; deputy director of operations, JSOC; N-38 branch head - special operations advisor to commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command; deputy commander, Naval Special Warfare Command; deputy director for global operations, J39, J3, Joint Staff; and commander, Special Operations Command – Africa.

He is the director of operations, J3, United States Cyber Command.
