Rear Admiral Stanley D. Bozin

Rear Adm. Stanley D. Bozin is a native of Union, New Jersey and a 1974 graduate of Rutgers College of Engineering, New Brunswick, New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He received his commission in November of 1974 through the Aviation Reserve Officer Candidate Program and was designated a Naval Aviator in December 1975. He received a Master of Science in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, in December 1986.

Bozin has had a number of operational and staff assignments during his career. His flying and command tours included (1976-1979), Patrol Squadron 48, Moffett Field, California; (1979-1982), Naval Air Development Center (NADC),Warminster, Pennsylvania; (1987-1989) Patrol Squadron 55, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida; (1991-1993), Patrol Squadron 24, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida; (1992-1993), executive and then commanding officer, Commander, Task Group 67.1; (1996-1998), commander of Patrol Wing 10, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Washington and commander, Fleet Air Mediterranean, Commander, Maritime Surveillance and Reconnaissance Forces, U.S. Sixth Fleet; commander, Naval Surface Group Mediterranean; (2003-2005), commander, Maritime Air Allied Naval Forces South, Naples Italy. In April 2004, Bozin assumed additional duties as commander, Navy Region Europe.

Bozin was assistant navigator aboard USS Coral Sea (CV-43) (1983-1985).

Bozin’s staff assignments included Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Air Warfare (OP-O5), J8 Directorate of the Joint Staff, a number of tours on the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (FM&C) staff culminating as the director, Office of Budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (2003-2008).

Bozin has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit Medals (four awards), Meritorious Service Medals (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and various other unit awards.
