Rear Admiral Adan G. Cruz is a native of Brentwood, New York. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. He earned a Master of Arts Degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College and was designated as a Joint Qualified Officer.
His operational tours include USS Shiloh (CG 67); USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79); Commander, Destroyer Squadron TWO EIGHT (CDS 28); and USS Lake Champlain (CG 57).
