Rear Admiral Joshua Lasky

Rear Adm. Joshua Lasky is a native of Alexandria, Virginia. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1994 and began his Navy career as a Surface Warfare Officer. He transferred to Naval Special Warfare and graduated Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training with Class 223 in June 1999.

His previous operational assignments include USS Juneau (LPD 10), USS Cowpens (CG 63), SEAL Team FOUR, platoon commander at SEAL Team TWO, Task Unit commander at SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team TWO, executive officer at SEAL Team ONE, deputy commander for Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan, commanding officer of SEAL Team TEN, and commanding officer of Naval Special Warfare Unit TEN. His most recent operational assignment was as commander, Naval Special Warfare Group FOUR.

His previous staff assignments include service as Future Operations Planning Team lead on the U.S. Naval Forces Central staff, action officer in the Information Operations Division on The Joint Staff, chief of staff for U.S. Special Operations Command Africa, vice deputy director for Global Operations on The Joint Staff, and deputy director, Joint Interagency Task Force South. Lasky currently serves as commander, Joint Task Force-Micronesia in Guam.

Lasky earned a Master of Military Studies from the Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia. His personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and various other personal and campaign medals.
