Rear Adm. Jeffrey S. Spivey is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He was commissioned via Aviation Officer Candidate School in 1989 and designated a Naval Aviator in 1991. He holds a Master of Arts in Communication from Johns Hopkins University and is a graduate of the Naval War College and the Joint Force Staff College.
Spivey completed operational assignments in Patrol Squadron (VP) 9 flying the P-3 Orion on anti-submarine and maritime surveillance missions in the Indo-Pacific including Operation Southern Watch. In 1995, he joined Patrol Squadron (VP) 30 as a fleet replacement squadron instructor pilot, then affiliated with Navy Reserve Patrol Squadron (VP) 62 flying operational missions in the Atlantic, Caribbean, and the Western Pacific including Operation Enduring Freedom.
Command tours include: Navy Reserve (NR) Training Squadron (VT) 35, NR NATO Combined Joint Operations from The Sea, Center of Excellence, and NR U.S. Fleet Forces Command Maritime and Air Operations, Headquarters.
