Rear Admiral Dennis Collins

Rear Admiral Collins is a native of Centennial, Colorado. He began his military career as an enlisted Sailor, joining the Navy in 1993 and attaining the rank of Petty Officer Second Class before receiving a direct commission as a Supply Corps officer in 1998. He graduated from DePaul University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver in 2004.

He has served as supply officer for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25; Air Cargo Det Asst. Officer In Charge, Task Force 53; training officer, Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 7; air readiness officer, Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group (NAVELSG); officer in charge of the NAVELSG Training and Evaluation Unit; executive officer, Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 14; and logistics exercise planner in the J7 Directorate of US Indo-Pacific Command. His command assignments include NR NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella Det C; Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 5; NR 7th Fleet Logistics Readiness Center Det; NR US Indo-Pacific Command Det 401; and commodore, 5th Navy Expeditionary Logistics Regiment.

His previous flag assignment was as Commander, Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group (NAVELSG).

He is qualified as a Navy Expeditionary Supply Corps Officer and Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist and was a 2003 recipient of the VADM Robert F. Batchelder Award for exceptional operational competence. His personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal.
