Beginning January 2025, the Navy marks its 250th birthday with a vibrant two-year celebration featuring commemorative events, multinational exercises, and meaningful community engagements.

This milestone is more than a tribute—it’s an opportunity for all of us to come together and recognize the Navy’s vital role in protecting our national security, supporting our Allies and partners, and sustaining America’s prosperity worldwide.

Get involved! Here’s how you can celebrate the Navy’s 250th birthday and connect with your community:

• Share Your Navy Story

  • Do you or someone you know have a connection to the Navy? Share your story on social media using the hashtag #Navy250. Whether it’s a family member’s service, a memorable visit to a Navy ship, or your own experience, your story can inspire others to reflect on the Navy’s impact.
     

• Engage with Navy Personnel

  • Reach out to local Navy installations or Reserve units to invite Sailors to speak at schools, community centers, or civic organizations. Hearing directly from those who serve can foster a deeper understanding of the Navy’s mission and values.
     

• Attend a Commemorative Event

  • Check the Navy’s official calendar for events happening near you. From ship tours to air shows, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the Navy’s capabilities and connect with its sailors. You can also visit a Navy Museum near you!
     

• Fly the Flag

  • Display the American flag or the Navy flag proudly at your home, business, or community center. It’s a simple yet powerful way to show your support and celebrate the Navy’s enduring legacy.
