Ways to Celebrate: Join Us in Honoring America’s Maritime Legacy

America is a proud maritime nation. Since before our Nation’s founding, the Navy has sailed across the globe to defend freedom and uphold our values. In 2025, the Navy marked its 250th birthday by kicking off a vibrant two-year celebration featuring commemorative events, multinational exercises, and meaningful community engagements. In 2026, the Navy will again commemorate its contribution to the Nation’s defense as part of a whole-of-government 250 celebration planned by the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission.

This milestone is more than a tribute—it’s an opportunity for all of us to come together and recognize the Navy’s vital role in protecting our national security, supporting our Allies and partners, and sustaining America’s prosperity worldwide.

Get involved! Here’s how you can celebrate the Nation’s 250th birthday and connect with your community:

    • Do you or someone you know have a connection to the Navy? Share your story on social media using the hashtag #Nation250. Whether it’s a family member’s service, a memorable visit to a Navy ship, or your own experience, your story can inspire others to reflect on the Navy’s impact.

  • Engage with Navy Personnel
