A native of Los Angeles, Adm. Craddock enlisted in the Navy before attending Oregon State University and being commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1996. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas and attended the Air Command and Joint Forces Staff Colleges.
A career submariner, his operational assignments include USS BUFFALO (SSN 715), USS ANNAPOLIS (SSN 760) and USS BREMERTON (SSN 698) before commanding USS SAN JUAN (SSN 751). During these tours, he completed multiple overseas deployments in support of U.S., Joint, and Coalition submarine operations in the Indo-Pacific, European, Central, and Africa Commands.
As Commodore, TASK FORCE SIXTY-NINE, he employed all U.S. submarines in the Europe and African theaters from Naples, Italy. As the Deputy Theater Undersea Warfare Commander, TASK FORCE ONE SIXTY-NINE, he directed all U.S. anti-submarine operations and exercises, working closely with theater Allies and Partners.
His staff assignments include Junior Officer Detailer; Inspector, Pacific Fleet Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board; Special Assistant for Officer Matters at Naval Reactors Headquarters; Deputy Nuclear Propulsion Program Manager; Senior Military Assistant to the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy; Executive Assistant to the Commander Naval Forces Europe/Africa and Commander Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters Naples; Nuclear Propulsion Program Manager and Head Submarine/Nuclear Officer Detailer; and Chief of Staff to the Submarine Direct Reporting Program Manager.
