This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 85 initial reports across the Navy from July 1-31.

This timeframe reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; twenty-six of the reported incidents occurred during this period, 24 of the reported incidents occurred outside of the report period and 35 occurred at an unknown time. Each report will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following:

* Nineteen reports are from events that occurred on-base, 24 are from events that occurred off-base and 42 events occurred at unknown locations.

* Among the 89 alleged offenders, two are officers, one is a chief petty officer, 7 are petty officers, 10 are E-3 and below, zero are civilians and 69 are unknown. Twenty-six of the alleged offenders are male, zero are female and 63 are unknown.

* Fourteen of the reported incidents were alleged to be service member on service member, zero were non-service member on service member, four were service member on non-service member and 71 were unknown.

* Among the 85 alleged victims, three were officers, 23 are petty officers, 31 are E-3 and below, 0 are civilians and 27 are unknown. Fifty-five of the alleged victims are female, 16 are male and 14 are unknown.
