Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Jacksonville recently awarded a 100 percent Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) set-aside contract for mess attendant services in support of the five galleys at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia.

The HUBZone Program, under the auspices of the U.S. Small Business Administration, encourages economic development and employment growth in HUBZone defined areas and was enacted into law as part of the Small Business Reauthorization Act of 1997.

The HUBZone Program encourages small companies to operate and employ people in areas designated as a HUBZone.

The recently awarded Kings Bay contract was competitively solicited and awarded to Base Services of Athens Inc., a HUBZone small business.
