Commander, USMC Training Command, Brig. Gen. Jason Morris relieved Navy Capt. Michael O. Enriquez, MSC, commanding officer, Field Medical Training Battalion West, March 9. Morris cited loss of trust and confidence as the reason for his relief.
Cmdr. Boyce R. Gire, the former executive officer of Field Medical Training Battalion-West, has assumed the responsibilities of commanding officer until a permanent relief is assigned. Enriquez will be temporarily reassigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Field Medical Training Battalion West (FMTB-W) is a Marine Corps Command that is led by Navy Medical senior officer. The mission of FMTB-W is to develop, coordinate, resource, execute and evaluate training and education concepts, policies, plans and programs to ensure Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsman is prepared for assignment with the operational forces.
