Mr. John Gilbert, Regional Audit Manager for Central Region, is this year’s recipient of the William B. Petty Award for Management Excellence.  Mr. Gilbert has performed his duties in an exceptional manner and inspires others to approach their positions in a positive, energetic manner.

Among John’s accomplishments are several that stand out. As a Regional Audit Manager, John is responsible for several Field Audit Offices. When one of these offices was challenged to deliver forward pricing audits on time, John worked diligently with that office’s leadership, implemented management controls, and determined the office had too much work, which he shifted to other offices. These changes resulted in an audit on time completion rate of over 80 percent. John is also active in DCAA’s Strategic Action Teams. Mr. Gilbert led two teams, both of which recommend changes that were adopted and led to positive changes such as the start of the Pathways Internship Program and the expanded role of the Financial Liaison Advisors. Finally, because of his knowledge of auditing and exceptional communication skills, John frequently represents DCAA at high level venues such as the first ever Army Cost and Pricing Summit.

Mr. Gilbert is a role model for all of DCAA’s Regional Audit Managers. He ensures DCAA accomplishes its mission as an Agency, focuses on growth for his employees, and works with our acquisition partners to ensure their needs are met.
