WASHINGTON - The Department of the Navy submitted its report on real-time aircraft sound monitoring at two Navy west coast air stations to Congress on December 1, 2021 in accordance with the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 and FY 2021 National Defense Authorization Acts. Navy is now releasing a supporting Technical Report and associated dataset as indicated in the Report to Congress.

The technical report provides greater detail regarding the study‘s design, data collection and analysis procedures, and results. It also provides background information regarding the basics of sound and Department of Defense aircraft noise models and noise study procedures.
The associated dataset includes the raw sound level meter data, observer logs and operational data collected during the monitoring periods. It also includes data produced for our analysis including sound level calculations and noise modeling files as well as other noise modeling input/output files associated with the study.
