NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. - A Search and Rescue (SAR) team from Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island rescued a stranded hunter trapped on a cliff face near Mt. Constance in the Olympic National Forest on Sept. 18, 2022.

Rear Adm. Brad Collins relieved Rear Adm. Stephen Barnett as Commander, Navy Region Northwest in a change of command ceremony Friday, June 18.The small ceremony occurred on Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor with just some family and staff in attendance.

An earthen roadway with sediment-clogged culverts obstructed the waterway along the southeastern border of Naval Magazine Indian Island for more than 75 years, however water now freely flows into Kilisut Harbor thanks to a nearly completed effort to restore the historic tidal channel.
