NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Holds Captain's Cup Athletic Competition

Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain's Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) committee hosted a Captain's Cup athletic competition Oct. 19to enrich the team spirit of the command.
Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain's Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) committee hosted a Captain's Cup athletic competition Oct. 19to enrich the team spirit of the command.

The Captain's Cup is an athletic competition that demonstrates teamwork for employees. The event was filled with joy and laughter as six departments competed head to head.

"Captain's Cup is an opportunity for the command to take one day out of our busy schedule to have a little bit of fun. The competitions build morale within the codes and gives bragging rights to the winning team," said LS2 Makerria Stroud, MWR president, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain.

Each department participated in competitions against other teams in different sporting events. The events included an egg toss, tug-of-war, tricycles racing, and a relay race. During the competitions, Sailors were able to strategize and establish effective communication skills while putting logistics skills to the test.

"The athletic events stirred competiveness but also built command camaraderie. Our command 'esprit de corps' is enriched as a result of these events," Capt. Kerry Pearson, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain.

The departments enjoyed the time spent together to have fun activities. The event included military, civilian, and local national personnel. After the day's events, code NAVSUP FLC Code 430 Operations Department of took home the trophy for best overall team.

NAVSUP FLC Bahrain provides full spectrum operational logistics support and quality-of-life programs to Navy, joint, and coalition warfighters, DoD civilians, and their families in the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility. NAVSUP FLC Bahrain is located at NSA Bahrain, which is situated in the Kingdom of Bahrain and is home to CENTCOM and U.S. 5th Fleet. NAVSUP FLC Bahrain is one of eight FLCs under Commander, NAVSUP.
