JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Steven S. Giordano visited Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga. June 5 and Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla. June 6th to conduct fleet engagement with Sailors and their families.

Giordano discussed his confidently humble, authentic, competent and courageous leadership philosophy while conducting all hands call with both junior Sailors and Chief Petty Officers.

Topics of discussion centered around several Navy issues, including the return of Chief's initiation implemented with the release of the CPO 365 guidance May 30th.

"It's important we get out here and talk to these guys as much as we can to see the reaction we're getting and give them the opportunity to present feedback," Giordano said. "So far, the reaction has been mostly positive and I'm very pleased."

Giordano praised the work being done by Sailors during visits to both bases, and even had the chance to speak to a gathering of commanding officers during a luncheon at NAS Jacksonville.

"The support offered by the shore installation commands is a vital component of our warfighting efforts," Giordano said. "What you do is as important as what they do and they cannot perform their mission without your help."

Giordano is scheduled to visit Naval Station Mayport, Fla. To complete his greater Jacksonville installation tour before returning to Washington D. C.

Giordano is the 14th Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy.
