'How To Prepare Evacuation Claims' Training Scheduled at NAS Jacksonville

14 September 2017

From Navy Region Southeast Public Affairs

Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida, is hosting "how to prepare travel claim evacuation training to streamline the liquidation process " to command pay and personnel administrators (CPPAs) affected by the recent hurricanes.
With military personnel, civilian employees, and family members returning from safe haven in and around Atlanta, Georgia, the Navy Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) on board Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida, is hosting "how to prepare travel claim evacuation training to streamline the liquidation process " to command pay and personnel administrators (CPPAs) affected by the recent hurricanes.

The training will take place at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) conference room on board NAS Jacksonville Sept. 21 from 9-10 a.m.

For commands outside of the Jacksonville area, PSD will offer the training from 1 to 2 p.m. via video-teleconference and dial-in. This training will review the entire process, required forms, and answer questions from attendees. Read ahead and dial-in numbers for the training sessions will be sent separately, on Monday, 18 September, to CPPAs and command leadership.

While audit requirements for travel liquidation are very detailed and complex, it is imperative all claims have required documentation in the package prior to disbursement of funds.

PSD's deputy disbursing officer and travel processing center supervisor are providing this training in the hopes of reducing turnaround times for those affected by the storm, as well as addressing questions or special situations that commands may have on this topic. Any CPPAs who are unable to attend the training on Sept. 21 can contact PSD Jacksonville direct at (904) 542-4218 to arrange for additional training sessions after the initial training is given. For commands across Georgia and South Carolina, it is recommended CPPAs call their servicing PSD to obtain the training.
