Eligible chiefs will see a small increase for advancement this cycle, with opportunity at 12.43 percent compared to 11.88 percent last year. Approximately 13,480 E-7 records will be reviewed by the board.

There are a total of 1,676 quotas for E-8 advancement, an increase of 79 quotas from last year's board. Opportunity is again above the 10-year opportunity average of 11.38 percent for E-7's to advance to E-8.
