Vice Admiral C. Forrest Faison III, 38th Surgeon General of the Navy and Chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery visited Marine Corps Base Quantico to meet with Sailors and tour the clinics, July 20.

Faison spent the day at MCB Quantico touring Naval Health Clinic Quantico, Officer Candidate School and The Basic School clinics with command leadership.

NHCQ Commanding Officer Capt. Gordon Smith spoke on the importance of MCB Quantico to the Navy and Marine Corps partnership.

"This is the first impression of Navy Medicine for Marine Corps officer candidates," said Smith. "It is important to remember that our relationship with the Marine Corps starts the first day of in-processing, and that the future commandant of the Marine Corps is potentially one of those candidates."

Faison held all-hands calls with NHC Quantico officers, enlisted personnel, and government service and contract employees, where he expressed his appreciation to the people involved in Navy Medicine's ongoing mission. He also hosted a luncheon with the Civilian and Sailors of the Quarter listening as they shared their accomplishments.

Faison spent a great deal of time speaking with the staff members throughout each of the clinics. The staff appreciated his visit and the time he took to speak with as many Sailors as possible.
