This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 74 initial reports across the Navy from February 1-29.
This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 74 initial reports across the Navy from February 1-29. This timeframe reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; twenty-six of the reported incidents occurred during this period, 20 of the reported incidents occurred outside of the report period and 28 occurred at an unknown time. Each report will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following: * Twenty reports are from events that occurred on-base, 18 are from events that occurred off-base and 36 events occurred at unknown locations. * Among the 76 alleged offenders, four are chief petty officers, 11 are petty officers, 12 are E-3 and below, 1 is a civilian and 48 are unknown. Thirty of the alleged offenders are male and 46 are unknown. * Twenty-one of the reported incidents were alleged to be service member on service member, five were service member on non-service member and 50 were unknown. * Among the 74 alleged victims, two are chief petty officers, 26 are petty officers, 40 are E-3 and below five are civilians and one is unknown.
