Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka and Aviation Support Division Atsugi personnel were officially presented with the 2015 Ashore Navy Supply Blue "E" Award for Supply Excellence, March 23 aboard Naval Air Facility Atsugi.

The Navy's "Air Boss" Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker, Commander, U.S. Naval Air Forces, was on hand to present the award and congratulate personnel for their outstanding effort.

"Supply is critical ... the fleet doesn't fly if it doesn't have all its parts," Shoemaker said. "Thank you for what you're doing."

The award marked the fifth consecutive year that the NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka, Site Atsugi team has been recognized with this honor.

"It's a direct reflection of what our personnel do on a daily basis," said Chief Logistics Specialist Vincent Bobadilla, the site's material control division officer. "We didn't do anything special, this exceptional performance is what we do every day."

Site Atsugi is fully responsible for managing over 9,000 line items of aviation consumable parts worth approximately $10 million, which directly supports Naval Aviation units and squadrons operating in both the 5th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility, said Lt. Jeffrey Eom, NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka, Site Atsugi director.

"The reputation that our Site Atsugi team and ASD have earned from their customers and the Navy's top aviator, speaks volumes and is well deserved," said Capt. Raymond Bichard, NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka commanding officer.

The Blue "E" Supply Excellence Award was established to formally recognize outstanding Supply Aviation support that meets standards of excellence on the Supply Management Inspection, monthly Type Commander Pulse Points and Supply Department Training Program.
