Actors O'Shea "Ice Cube" Jackson and Kevin Hart, the stars of the new film "Ride Along 2", joined service members and their families for a special screening of the film at Gator Theater at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story (JEBLCFS) Dec. 14.

"We held a contest and the people of Norfolk invited us to come down. We said, you know we're here so we should go see some of the troops and make it a thing that's not just for the general public but for our men and women in the service," said Ice Cube when asked why they chose JEBLCFS as one of the advance screening locations.

The pair took to the stage to introduce the movie and then spent some time at the nearby Gator Bowl to meet and bowl with service members and their families.
"When you do things like this, you just feel like you want to simply generate conversation. We feel like we have a great movie that can generate that amazing conversation, and what better place to generate that conversation then a place with 1,500 troops especially around this time." Hart said.

"Ride Along 2" is a sequel to the 2014 hit feature "Ride Along". The new film will be officially released in January.

"It's cool to see them out here supporting what we do, supporting what we're doing for our country," said Airman Zachary Armer from Strike Fighter Squadron 87.
"They really do care and they feel blessed to have people wearing this uniform out there defending them."
MWR hosts a variety of programs for service members and their families that can vary from equipment rental to ski trips to special movie screenings.
