Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) recognized its civilian of the month for November, Oct. 27.
Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) recognized its civilian of the month for November, Oct. 27.

"It is always an added pleasure to be recognized for doing a job that you enjoy," said Mitchell Clark, assigned to NECC's Global Force Management (GFM) Department.

Clark performs a key role in ensuring NECC's overall operational capability is able to meet emergent expeditionary requirements. NECC serves as the single functional command for the Navy's expeditionary force,s and as central management for the readiness, resources, manning, training and equipping of those forces.

"NECC is a great place that allows me the luxury to put my past experience to work for the benefit of the next generation," Clark added.

Nancy Harned, executive director for NECC, thanked Clark for what he brings to NECC to ensure forces are able to meet component commanders' goals, not only in the Pacific theater, but worldwide.

"His expertise helped to guide sourcing solutions, enabling NECC forces to continue to support existing requirements and take on new requirements in the Pacific theater beginning in fiscal year 2017, resulting in NECC supporting 96 rotational and non-rotational requirements while deploying a total of 5,126 personnel," said Harned.

The director further added that as NECC's GFM Coordinator, Clark has positively impacted NECC`s overall operational capability by meticulously managing the staffing process to essentially ensure forces are manned, trained and equipped to accomplish the mission.

While spearheading efforts to improve the GFM staffing process, Clark also found opportunities to train and mentor other action officers within the command.

"Mitch's mentoring of all NECC GFM action officers enables them to enact a sustainable sourcing plan for the foreseeable future, ensuring NECC forces will be able to respond to the nation's defense," said Harned.

NECC is an enduring warfighting force providing sea-to-shore and inland operating environment capabilities across the full range of military operations, that is focused on delivering combat effective expeditionary forces ready for worldwide operations now and into the future.
