As part of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command's (NECC) continued Phased Replacement Plan, equipment force-wide that is at the end of its service life cycle is being replaced with fuel efficient alternatives, when practicable, Oct. 26.

"There is a lifecycle cost associated savings involved with replacing equipment at the end of its lifecycle to continue the command's ongoing energy efficiency measures," said Capt. Chris LaPlatney, NECC assistant chief of staff for Material Readiness.

The replacement of key equipment after favorable cost benefit analysis is part of the Table of Allowance Phased Replacement Plan that will bring more fuel efficiency measures into our expeditionary force not only during Energy Action Month but year round added LaPlatney.

Energy Action Month is designed to inform and educate personnel about energy consumption and conservation, but also encourages energy conservation and responsible usage by bringing awareness to the forefront.

NECC's 15-year Energy Strategy is an integral part of its phased equipment replacement program to increase alternative energy use in expeditionary environments, increase energy efficiency for equipment, and change how equipment is operated in expeditionary and training environments.

NECC is an enduring war fighting force providing sea-to-shore and inland operating environment capabilities across the full range of military operations that is focused on delivering combat effective expeditionary forces ready for worldwide operations now and into the future.
