Two Navy personnel at the Navy Medical Readiness Command-Bethesda in Naval Support Activity Bethesda, MD tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), the first on Mar. 20 and the second on Mar. 21.

Two Navy personnel at the Navy Medical Readiness Command-Bethesda in Naval Support Activity Bethesda, MD tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), the first on Mar. 20 and the second on Mar. 21. These cases have been reported by the State of Maryland and are not additional cases. The individuals are currently quarantined and receiving medical care in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines. 

Personnel with whom the individuals have had close contact with have been notified and are in self-isolation.

Military health professionals are conducting a thorough contact investigation to determine whether any other personnel may have been in close contact and possibly exposed. Depending on the results of that investigation, additional measures may be taken.

NMRTC- Bethesda is committed to taking every measure possible to protect the health of our force. We remain in close coordination with state and federal authorities, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of our personnel and local population.
