On MAR. 23, a Sailor assigned to Navy Recruiting District Raleigh tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). The service member is currently in their residence in Cameron, NC, and is following medical guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines.
The service member began experiencing symptoms on Friday, March 13. The following Monday, March 16, the service member visited their primary care manager and was advised to self-isolate. On Wednesday, March 18, the service member was advised to visit UNC Respiratory Test Site in Cary, NC for advanced screening and testing for COVID-19, and then immediately returned to their residence and self-quarantined. On Monday, March 23, the service member’s test results came back positive for COVID-19. Five other service members, who had been in contact with the service member, have been in self-isolation since Monday, March 16. They will remain in self-isolation for the prescribed time of 14 days. Navy Recruiting District Raleigh is following the guidelines set forth by the Department of Defense.
