MILLINGTON, Tenn.- To help Americans stay connected to their Navy while staying safe at home, the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) is bringing a Virtual Navy Week to Salt Lake City, Utah from Sept. 14-18, in lieu of an in-person event.
Salt Lake City is the seventh Navy Week this year that has been transformed to a virtual event as part of the nation’s ongoing Coronavirus mitigation efforts. The Virtual Salt Lake City Navy Week will seek to re-create as much of the originally planned demonstrations and shows as possible online. Engagements will include live events on social media, demonstrations, interviews, and local media coverage of:
Salt Lake City has been the site of previous in-person Navy Weeks in 2007, 2010, 2015, and 2017. By going virtual, the Navy is able to work with its great network of Navy partners to provide opportunities to interact with the Navy in live-streamed events, and videos. The Navy aims to provide content to the local and surrounding communities of Salt Lake City looking for fun and engaging content to include band performances, Navy history reviews relevant to Utah and STEM-type subjects, which are a part of Navy operations.
The full schedule of events will be available on https://outreach.navy.mil/Virtual-Outreach/.
