PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – To protect the base’s natural resources and habitat as well as prevent property damage and increased health risks to humans and deer, Naval Support Activity Panama City’s Environmental team will partner with the Florida Forest Service and Operation Outdoor Freedom to conduct a deer reduction operation starting Feb.11.
As in past, a marksmen from Operation Outdoor Freedom will be teamed with a NSA Panama City Public Works representative and Florida Forest Service representative to conduct the reduction operations through Feb 12. The work is performed by using cross and compound bows to minimize impacts. The hours of the deer reduction will be Saturday and Sunday, from 5:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. These times will help ensure that base operations are not affected.
