KONDANKAI serves as an opportunity to align leadership of both nations to better address mutual security challenges. Participating commanders from Self Defense Fleet and U.S. 7th Fleet delivered analyses of the operations environment to collaborate on the future direction of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and U.S. Navy relationship.

KONDANKAI enhances interoperability between the services, building the relationships between the top maritime leaders and improves the overall capabilities when working alongside allies and partners, while maintaining regional stability in the Indo-Pacific.
