Congratulations to this week’s Military Sealift Command “Ship in the Spotlight, USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12). McLean recently returned stateside after a successful five-and-a-half month deployment serving the U.S. Sixth Fleet and the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group. During the 169-day deployment, McLean enabled continuous naval operations in the Baltic Sea and High North. While performing 33 underway replenishments with U.S. and NATO vessels, the McLean crew successfully transferred more than 3.26 million gallons of fuel and 517 pallets of critical cargo. McLean’s precise work is vital in upholding MSC’s Combat Logistics fleet and is a key element of the Navy’s ability to operate forward.
