Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, a native of Rochester, N.Y., received the Leonardo Da Vinci Award in Military Service from the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), at the NIAF 49th anniversary gala, Oct. 26. This award recognizes significant achievements and societal contributions by Italian Americans. Franchetti was one of six Italian Americans honored this year.
