This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 64 initial reports across the Navy from January 1-31. This timeframe reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; 17 of the reported incidents occurred during this period, 13 of the reported incidents occurred outside of the report period and 34 occurred at an unknown time. Each report will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following: * Thirteen reports are from events that occurred on-base, 20 are from events that occurred off-base and 31 events occurred at unknown locations. * Among the 66 alleged offenders, zero are officers, one is a chief petty officer, nine are petty officers, four are E-3 and below, zero are civilians and 66 are unknown. Fourteen of the alleged offenders are male, one is female and 51 are unknown. * Twelve of the reported incidents were alleged to be service member on service member, one was non-service member on service member, two were service member on non-service member and 51 were unknown. * Among the 64 alleged victims, two are an officer, one is a chief petty officer, 25 are petty officers, 30 are E-3 and below, zero are civilians and two are unknown.
