NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville (FLCJ) Reserve unit sailors participated in a tabletop exercise to train the Enterprise Logistics Response Team (ELRT) during a combined drill weekend for both the Orlando detachment and the Headquarters unit of FLCJ, April 20-22.

The exercise included participation from all five continental U.S. (CONUS) Fleet Logistics Centers. The ELRT is a quick-response compilation of sailors with critical skillsets who can deploy in support of a contingency or emergency response operations. The ELRT last deployed in support of hurricane response operations conducted throughout Florida, South Georgia and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2017.

The ELRT is composed of active duty and Reserve sailors who have qualified in select areas of logistics functions, including postal operations, hazardous material management, material handling, contracting/purchasing, and fuels operations.

The FLCJ Reserve unit sailors worked to achieve necessary qualifications and conducted simulated operations to respond to a crisis while leveraging each team member's unique skills. During this exercise, both of the FLCJ reserve unit detachments also received forklift training and certification.

Capt. Dave Buehler, commanding officer, FLCJ Navy Reserve Unit, stated "It was a great opportunity to get our cross-assigned, as well as our Orlando detachment members here to participate in training with the other five CONUS FLCs on ELRT response. The ELRT affords the Reserves members the opportunity to provide vital support to the active component in the event of a contingency response and it is my priority to ensure all members are ready and trained should we receive the call."
