Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 2 and USS Constitution Sailors visited the Bernal E. Smith Sr. Boys and Girls Club in Memphis, Tennessee, May 9, for Memphis Navy Week.

EODGRU 2 demonstrated their diving and salvage robotics to the children while the USS Constitution Sailors educated them on the ship's history and traditions.

"Being able to show and tell some of the aspects of our job to the children today, so that maybe they can get a clearer look into what we do in the Navy or even some of the things they can do outside of the Navy, was amazing," said Navy Diver 2nd Class Alexander Ondina.

The Bernal E. Smith Sr. Boys and Girls Club, located in Memphis, is particularly special because they too offer a robotics program to their children who love learning about this innovative technology.

"Our kids are visual learners and having the opportunity for the Navy to come out and show them some of the robotics and history the Navy has to offer I know will go a long way with them," said Program Director Corey Pryor. "We have a lot of children here and the fact that they were all quiet I know they were taking in the information and learning different aspects the Navy has to offer."
