08 October 2016
When evacuees receive the "all clear" and are able to return to their installations in the tri-base area, they will have help waiting for them.
When evacuees receive the "all clear" and are able to return to their installations in the tri-base area, they will have help waiting for them.

Emergency Family Assistance Centers (EFAC) will be open at Naval Station (NS) Mayport, Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Fla., and at Naval Submarine Base (NSB) Kings Bay, Ga.

Fleet and Family Service Centers (FFSC) will operate the EFACs providing a wide-range of services to personnel.

"The EFAC will have representatives from several entities available to assist with a variety of needs, issues, or concerns," said Kandi Debus, Navy Region Southeast's family readiness emergency management coordinator. "We'll have Personnel Support Detachment representatives, as well as counselors, personal financial management specialists, housing representatives, chaplains, and legal assistance."

Evacuees can visit an EFAC in the following locations:
* At the Fleet and Family Service Center on board NAS Jacksonville
* At the Fleet and Family Service Center on board NSB Kings Bay

NS Mayport is still determining the location of its EFAC while waiting for power to be restored. Once the location is determined, the information will be posted to the NS Mayport and Navy Region Southeast Facebook pages. Personnel and families are asked to check these Facebook pages regularly.

The Navy is also concerned about Navy families and needs to account for them now that the storm has passed. As of 6 a.m. today, the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) website was opened for all Navy personnel to muster - military and civilian - from impacted installations in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. This includes personnel and families who have evacuated to safe havens.

There are four ways personnel can muster.
1. Go to the NFAAS website: www.navyfamily.navy.mil.
2. Use the NFAAS mobile app (available through your mobile app store at no cost)
3. Call your command and report your location and present condition
4. Call the Naval Personnel Command Emergency Coordination Center at 877-414-5358.

If personnel need assistance following the storm, go to www.navyfamily.navy.mil and complete a needs assessment. A Navy counselor will contact you and provide help.
