Commander, Electronic Attack Wing Pacific (VAQWINGPAC), Capt. Scott Farr relieved Cmdr. Aaron Tabor, commanding officer of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 138, Oct. 19, due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.

Cmdr. Chase Dale has been assigned as the commanding officer of VAQ 138. Dale recently completed a successful command of VAQ 140.

Tabor has been temporarily assigned to VAQWINGPAC.

The U.S. Navy holds those in positions of command to very high standards and accountable when those standards are not met. When a commanding officer fails to meet these high standards and his superior loses confidence in his ability to lead, the commanding officer is removed from command.

VAQ 138 is based at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. The squadron flies the EA-18G Growler, which is the Navy's premier electronic attack asset specializing in the suppression of enemy air defenses though non-kinetic and kinetic means.
